I thought I would share a bit about why I’ve been silent these past months.  To be candid I’ve been totally overwhelmed with all that’s happened.

In mid-March, the U.S. was ordered to shelter in place, and suddenly the world was barraged with news about the Covid-19 pandemic from every possible angle… every station on television, radio, and written format, both online and in print. In an instant, my business came to a dead halt in having to cancel several seminars and presentations.

For 20+ years, “Advanced Etiquette” has prided itself on being a full hands-on, unique educational experience that provided instruction on topics that are often more difficult to master via webinars and/or conference calls. I was devastated and lost my way, along with many others throughout the world.

And so, I consciously chose to take time off to embark on other productive activities to heal and reenergize my physical and spiritual self. Among the activities I embarked on doing, I’ve had tons of fun…

  • Eating ice cream and binge-watching nearly every televised series and movie my husband Ron we have had on a list for years.
  • At the start of May, choosing to tackle cleaning up our basement… Yuck!. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for 8 years since we moved to our current home.  Boy! I was amazed at how many old treasures we found that now can be tossed. Among the items, we found an old kid’s activity kit… originally meant to give as a gift.  Instead of tossing it, Ron and I chose to have fun doing it. Have you ever made these potholders as a kid?
  • Yet perhaps the most positive outcomes of being sheltered in place for over four months have been:
  • Being able to spend dedicated time at home enjoying all home life has to offer. I’ve always loved our home; yet now I feel a much deeper appreciation of it. I now feel if I had to be sheltered in this place for life… I’d enjoy it and be fine with it.
  • Best of all, I’ve enjoyed spending the solid qualify time with my beloved husband of 30 years, who some time back Ron was diagnosed with dementia/early Alzheimer’s, and by being able to spend 24/7 for 3 months with him, it’s been heaven!

So, what’s coming next?  Look for…

  • THE BEST EVER Book Sale of a Lifetime!  If you miss it, it won’t ever be repeated!
  • SPECIAL CALL FOR ASSISTANCE!  Here’s your chance to tell me what subjects you best want to see my write about most.
  • CLEANING UP OUR DATABASE:  Look for a message to reconfirm your interest in being on our mailing list moving forward.

So… until next time…

Happy Practicing!*

*For those new to this blog.  “Happy Practicing” is a phrase used at the end of all communications as a reminder we can all have fun practicing etiquette, at all times our entire life.
